If you've maxed out the volume when you connect headphones to your BlackBerry smartphone, the built-in audio boost feature allows you to amplify volume above the normal range offered by regular volume settings. This feature is especially beneficial for lower-quality headphones with less volume amplification. When you enable the audio boost feature, the volume for songs, ringtones and videos is automatically increased, which gives sound output an extra boost.

Question: Q: how can I make my iphone headphones louder? I'm significantly hard of hearing - not so much that I can't use headphones straight with my iPhone SE, but enough that I have to jack the volume all the way up and it still doesn't seem loud enough much of the time. Put on your headphones. Make sure the headset is plugged and, if necessary, turned on. If your headphones have a volume control, adjust it to increase the sound. Click the 'Start' button and 'Control Panel' to display its window. Then double-click 'Sounds and Audio Devices' to display its dialog box.

1.

Click the 'Media' icon from your BlackBerry smartphone's home screen, then press the 'Menu' key.

2.

Click 'Options' or 'Media Options' depending on the BlackBerry smartphone you're using, then select the 'ON' option in the 'Audio Boost.' On certain models, select the 'Audio Boost' check box.

3.

Click 'Yes' after reading the warning that states the volume will be amplified, and then press the 'Menu' key. Click 'Save.'

My Galaxy Nexus is considerably quiet with headphones plugged in. An example of this would be when I'm using it with my car's auxillary headphone jack. It's at least twice as quiet as my iPod 2G. It's not the ROM that I have (LiquidSmooth), because my brother's stock, non-rooted GNex is just as quiet.

It's not just the car either, because whenever I use headphones with it, it's much quieter than if I plugged my headphones into my laptop.

Also, I've tried multiple music apps, but they all seem to be just as quiet.
